About Me

Hello, I’m Harun — an AI Engineer passionate about building intelligent systems that create real-world impact. I recently graduated from Hacettepe University’s Artificial Intelligence Engineering program, and I enjoy combining curiosity, discipline, and creativity to develop data-driven solutions.

So far, I’ve gained hands-on experience in machine learning, computer vision, and data engineering through two internships and two part-time roles. I contributed to projects such as UAV visual navigation, multi-sensor pipelines, anomaly detection, data validation, and image classification at companies including HAVELSAN, TIGA Healthcare, Mastersoft, and Konumsal Information Systems. These experiences taught me how to take responsibility, collaborate effectively, and deliver results as part of a team.

Outside of engineering, I enjoy an active and balanced lifestyle — from tennis and volleyball to snowboarding, dancing, music, fitness, and traveling. I believe staying curious and energetic makes me a better engineer and teammate. My goal is to grow in a forward-thinking company where I can contribute, keep improving, and be part of a positive team environment.

Projects

Farmly Poster Farmly Crop Model

FARMLY: AI Powered Agriculture and Livestock Management Mobile App

  • Farmly is a user-friendly farmer app for anyone interested in farming. The app includes features such as field management, livestock inventory, crop disease detection, chatbot assistant, and veterinarian services. We aimed to provide an all-in-one place for farmers to manage these services.
  • In this project, I was responsible for data collection, developing crop disease detection models, and building the RAG system & chatbot.
  • Frameworks & tools used:
    • TensorFlow
    • OpenAI API
    • LangChain
  • We obtained accuracy values between 85% and 95% for the crop disease detection models.
Teknofest Frame A

Teknofest: AI in Transportation

  • • As part of the Teknofest competition, I took on the role of "team captain" for a four-person team working on developing models and writing algorithms that perform real-time object detection and position estimation tasks based on a scenario we were given regarding the use of artificial intelligence in transportation.
  • • Progress was made until the semi-finals.
  • • Technically took the responsibilities in:

Detecting Endangered Species from Camera Trap Photos

  • • Recognizing the vital role that these species play in maintaining the natural balance, the looming threat of extinction poses significant challenges for the future. Seeking solutions to address this issue, our study focuses on developing models capable of detecting both near to extinct and endangered species.
  • • Studied in a group of two.

Sociodemographic and Socioeconomic Analysis of Istanbul Residents from Survey Data

  • This work proposes a comprehensive analysis of Istanbul’ s socioeconomic and sociodemographic status from the surveys collected by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and also aims the profiling of the Istanbul’ s residents according to this survey. The dataset includes 50.390 person’ s survey responses about different aspects of life circumstances such as the income, how long they have been living in Istanbul, their sport activities etc.
